Huzzah!

I report to the Peace Corps tomorrow. I’ve spent the past two days with my family. We’ve been staying at a small hotel in downtown Philly, living it up. We saw a Sondheim review last night and the Mutter Museum (of medical weirdnesses), Christ Church Episcopal, and the Betsy Ross House today. Lots of people--both living and dead, lots of history, and lots of deformed organs preserved in formaldehyde. I might make it back to Christ Church towmorrow morning for their 9am service. Washington, Betsy Ross, and several other notables were members. How awesome is that!

Mixed feelings right now. It has been a fun couple of days but the longer I wait the harder it is to stay sane! This is, in reality, a long way to go for a new job. Yes, I’m scared and nervous. Part of me can’t wait to meet my fellow volunteers, and part of me is certain no one will want to sit next to me. We may graduate from high school, but we never grow past it! But I also know it will be different from anything I can imagine, not better, not worse, but much more wonderful.

I am so blessed to have this chance. Thank you God, thank you Peace Corps, thank you everyone!
